Sam Hiscock is an internationally exhibited illustrator and mark maker, whose work portrays the smaller details of life, specifically the overlooked quirks and curiosities of the everyday.

Sam believes that every object possesses a story or interesting tale. Though drawing is his passion, his interests are often used as a means of inspiration, from old promotional advertisement and packaging tins to antiques and larger British moths.

“Over the last few years the subject of my illustrations has reflected my interest in objects and their stories. What makes someone buy a pair of ceramic cats? Who made them? Are they supposed to be so ugly?

I see the beauty behind the mystery and the often-mundane purpose of shelf fillers and dust collectors, and I am constantly striving to visually document this”.
